Our Mission:
“Teaching Students to be Productive Citizens”
Personal education…
The district’s Cultural Change Initiative focuses on ensuring students’ success so that every student will become a productive citizen. National child development expert and author Dr. James Comer concluded that “No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship.”Our teaching staff understands that education is not about having the best facilities or a superior curriculum, it is about how we deliver instruction! It’s not what we do but how we do it, and it’s not what we say but how we say it. We present instruction that is relevant and meaningful in relation to the personal goals of our students. This personal attention is what sets us apart from other schools. This is how the Three Lakes School District teaches students to be productive citizens.
…Lifetime Inspiration
The values instilled from our learning philosophy and culture and the special relationships formed with teachers, parents, peers and community members remain with and inspire our students throughout their lives.

Cultural Change Initiative
In the fall of 2005 the Three Lakes School District began a Cultural Change Initiative. It focuses on ensuring student success by promoting positive change rather than punitive measures, resulting in higher achievement levels and a significant decline in the failure rate. This change holds students accountable for their work and assists them in removing barriers that inhibit their success
The results have been remarkable. Standardized test scores are consistently above the state average.
- Achievement levels are up across all grades and the district is becoming recognized as an academic leader in the state.
- The number of students with near-failing or failing grades has been reduced by more than 50 percent and it continues to decline.
- The cultural change has involved many areas, including wellness, testing, at-risk, student software, junior high, special education, and alternative education.
At present, more than 10 percent of the student population comes from outside of the district. The district believes that the level of community support and support from families outside the district is a good indication that the district’s cultural change initiative is working to meet the needs of all students.
A Message from Our Superintendent
The student body in our district is representative of the district’s high standards. Students enjoy a safe and drug-free environment that is conducive to learning. Our students continue to be recognized by outside organizations, not only for their academic and athletic success, but more important for their demeanor. The district offers a wide variety of co-curricular activities. We believe our co-curricular activities augment our academic offerings and provide an exciting and rewarding experience for all of our students.
The district enjoys a high level of community involvement, with school-community organizations at all grade levels. Parent involvement in their child’s educational program is welcomed and encouraged. The district utilizes parent advisory groups for everything from school nutrition to human growth and development curricula.
